ScoreBreak Web v4

ScoreBreak Web App v4 is an update focused on power user tools for content creation and advanced editing interactions. Workflows once found only on ScoreBreak “native” applications for iPad, iPhone, and Mac have been added to version 4 of ScoreBreak Web App. This release helps provide greater consistency for coaches utilizing the Web App in their workflow, and for athlete’s who wish to create Clips and Playlists in addition to their film review from their Chromebooks, PCs, or other devices running the ScoreBreak Web App.

Power-user focused functionalities and elements have been added across all sections of the web application interface. The ability to create Clips is being officially announced in version 4, along with the ability to interact with elements via drop down contextual menus. These contextual menus enable abilities including sharing elements via Chat, adding Clips to Playlists, adjusting Clip time ranges, and more. Web App provides the Playlist section with  significant enhancements, now supporting creating and editing section Title Cards, Clip Notes, rearranging Playlist Clips via drag-and-drop, and adding Clips to a Playlist from other games and practices. Enhancements have been added across the entirety of the platform, including film management tools, editing management views, and game / practice interaction interfaces.

In addition power user functionalities, the ScoreBreak Web Application has received performance enhancements and quality of life improvements. Views load faster, and more options provide deeper customization to the look and feel of your team. Upload your team’s logo today to represent.

To create a Clip, use either the provided interface elements or keyboard hotkeys. A Clip can be created as a Recordable Clip or a Droppable Pin. Recordable Clips allow you to select the start and end times of a clip, allowing you full customization of how long you want your Clip to be, and where and when it should start or end. The upside of Recordable Clips is the exact nature of defining the “in” and the “out” points for your clip; the downside is that Recordable Clips require you to watch film, realize something you wish to clip, go backwards in the video timeline, start your recording, then finalize your clip duration by ending the Clip recording. This process can be aided by using a hotkey for your video navigation (left / right arrows to jump forward / backward 5 seconds, space bar to pause, up / down arrows to increase / decrease playback speed) and using the R-key to start and stop your Clip recording. While aided by the hotkeys, one still needs to manually navigate after analyzing the video and deciding a Clip must be made. Wouldn’t it be better if there was something that could create a Clip for you automatically for a preceding amount of time? Droppable Pins provide this functionality.

Droppable Pins create Clips in accordance with a predefined amount of time. When watching film, when you react to something you are watching, a Droppable Pin creates a Clip in one click or one key press. This is in stark opposition to the extremely manual (yet accurate!) process outlined above for Recordable Clips. Droppable Pins create a Clip 12 seconds prior to the current video time, and 3 seconds after, for a 15 second Clip. The P-key on a keyboard will drop a pin.

Clips that you create via Recordable Clips or Droppable Pins, or which are created for you from a game’s statistics, can now be easily interacted with. Options to share a Clip via Chat or add it to a Playlist have been added to the top right menu bar when in a game. Additionally, a selected Clip will feature a three dot (•••) icon, providing access to these and other options.

Playlists provide the ability to create a video of defined Clips. With ScoreBreak Web App v4, enhanced Playlist customizations have been added, including adding and editing Title Cards, Clip Notes, and reordering Clips in your videos. After a Playlist has been edited (Clips put in the desired order, Notes added to Clips, and Title Cards added to define the different sections of the video), the video may be shared via Chat. Sharing Playlists, Games, and Clips via the Chat allows for the pieces of content you wish to be reviewed to be “bubbled up” to your athletes. This reduces the friction of having to be told to view something, then having to go find it. Instead, an athlete logs into your ScoreBreak team account, and the content is ready to be engaged.

ScoreBreak is renowned for it’s live tagging and instantaneously broken-down film. ScoreBreak Web App v4 adds the ability to nudge film to live-stats for precision alignment. While uploading film, or editing existing film, select “Nudge Film” to manually align your film to live-tagged goals to ensure greater stat alignment.

ScoreBreak Web App v4 features a host of quality of life improvements, including live updating across all sections. Interaction forms have now moved to a right side modal, increasing uniformity across devices and providing greater ease of use. For teams streaming video to ScoreBreak, an event’s live streaming credentials may now be accessed in the new event details side modal.

Custom team logo support has been added to Team preferences. This enhancement creates a customized feel in ScoreBreak for your team.

To add your team logo, upload a high-resolution, transparent-background, PNG file. For best results, we suggest a logo larger than 200x200, however the most important note is to ensure you are uploading a PNG file with a transparent background. JPEG images do not support transparency - so let it be said again: high resolution, transparent background PNGs for best success.

We are very excited for the release of version 4 and continuing to improve the Web experience we bring our partners. When you refresh your browser you’ll be pushed version 4 automatically. Please enjoy ScoreBreak responsibly and thank you for continuing our partnership. We look forward to the continued value we will bring to your organization on all our software systems.
